Reed McMains

Started Episcopal in Pre-Kindergarten

Hi, I am Reed McMains, a senior in my 12th year at Episcopal. My favorite thing about Episcopal is all of the opportunities to get involved in ways that benefit the community. While I am a member of the Honor Council, I also serve as a Math and Science Fellow in the Academic Resource Center. I enjoy helping other students overcome their setbacks in the classroom through appointments and weekly partnerships. Also, I love all of the clubs available to us, allowing people to pursue their academic and recreational interests. This can be seen through my involvement in Mu Alpha Theta and Science Club, while I also co-founded Dodgeball Club and am a member of Fan Club. All of these clubs allow me to explore my interests outside of the classroom. Inside the classroom, I appreciate the small class sizes at Episcopal. For example, my AP Chemistry class last year had five students, which allowed us to work with each other and the teacher more closely, which increased our learning and friendships. Lastly, I am a member of the basketball team, where I enjoy the culture we have established to push each other while still having fun. These activities and involvement offered and encouraged are my favorite things about Episcopal.
