Learn more about the Malala Education Fund on line.
Mrs. Roy’s 8th grade advisory class has decided to support the Malala Education Fund. Founded by 18-year-old Malala Yousafzai, the youngest awardee of the Nobel Peace Prize, the fund assists girls who seek education in countries that attempt to oppress them.
This advisory class, consisting of all boys, wants to make a strong statement that they believe in and support the education of girls all over the world. Partnering with an organization called Schoola, the boys are collecting gently-used name-brand clothing which they will sort and mail to the organization. Schoola re-sells the clothing in its on-line catalogue, and gives the money it makes to the Malala Fund.
What can you do?
Please go through your closet! We are looking for GENTLY-used clothing with one of these brand names: https://www.schoola.com/stitch/quality-brands .
- clothing for toddler boys and girls
- clothing for teen girls
- clothing for adult women
Deposit your clothing in a clean plastic bag and bring to your homeroom teacher.
Deadline for donations is Friday, April 8.
