Congratulations to Episcopal sophomore, John Rollins who won the 120 lb. weight class at the Brusly division III tournament Saturday, January 9. John pinned every opponent and was a candidate for outstanding wrestler of the tournament.
The Knights team of seven wrestlers placed 8th of 18 teams, in spite of having only half of the number of eligible team members (14). Ellis Herring finished second at 182 lbs, dropping a heartbreaker 7-6 to the defending state champion from Dunham. William Kennedy scored the first two wins of his career at 126 lbs.
"Most important to me is that the team was awarded the Jason Troung Sportsmanship Award plaque which is named for a Brusly wrestler who was killed several years ago, and who had always valued the sportsmanship of wrestling. Proof that character and honor is learned on the mat." -Coach Phil Bode
