The Episcopal Boys Track and Field Program was initiated when Episcopal was founded in 1965. The team’s motto is "Go Knights, good people, have fun, district, regional and state champs." Our athletes work hard each and everyday and our record shows it.

The Episcopal boys track and field program has claimed 18 state titles since the program was established. In addition, the program holds numerous district and regional championship titles and state runner-up placements.

Head Coach

Claney Duplechin has had tremendous success as the Episcopal Boys Cross Country Head Coach. Since joining the school in 1977, Coach Dupe has led his teams to 31 state titles, including 22 straight, which is second on the NFHS all-time list. In 2018, Coach Dupe was named the National Boys Cross Country Coach of the Year by the National High School Athletic Coaches Association. In 2013, he was named the Cross Country Coach of the Year by the National Federation of State High School Associations. In 2012, he received the Gill Athletics National Boys Track & Field Coach of the Year award. In 2011, Coach Dupe and the boys cross country team were recognized by the Louisiana legislature with a concurrent resolution to commend them for sustained and continuing athletic excellence. Coach Dupe is a graduate of Mamou High School. He attended Louisiana State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in physical education, social studies and drivers’ education and a M.Ed in educational supervision and administration. Coach Dupe and his student athletes adhere to the motto Go Knights! Good People! Have Fun! State Champs!
