Center for Service Learning
The National Association of Episcopal Schools (NAES) believes that one of the principal qualities of an Episcopal school, is that we work for social justice through community service and service learning programs. Episcopal's spiritual leaders bring students yearlong service learning experiences directed at the needs of our greater community, infusing classrooms with service learning projects and collaborating with teachers across disciplines.
Through service learning, students connect what they learn in class to real world issues, then explore and work towards solutions, all while reflecting meaningfully on their experiences and efforts. It is in keeping with Episcopal’s mission and ministry statement of developing the whole person – spiritually, intellectually, morally, artistically, and physically – that our students are given opportunities to engage meaningfully with, and learn more about their community through service that inspires.
