Eddie Slowikowski, nationally recognized speaker and leadership skill motivator, spent time with Middle School students this week to inspire their thinking and encourage each student in our community to be the best version of themselves, to give back, and share their gifts.
"Part of being your best self is giving back to others," commented Eddie during his address the the Middle School. The volunteers at City Year are prime examples of that philosophy - they are living models of his message in action. After the full Middle School session, Eddie, in partnership with City Year volunteers, led a team building and leadership development workshop with members of the 8th grade.
We are grateful to Eddie, to the volunteer corp from City Year who joined us for the morning's events, and to the anonymous donor who made this event possible for Episcopal students. Lucy Smith, Middle School Division Head added, "We believe our 8th graders responded enthusiastically to Eddie’s fun and inspirational team-building time. We are optimistic about the ways that this event will motivate their leadership and their service learning this year."
