![]() On Saturday, January 9, the Episcopal Robotics Team attended the 2016 FIRST® Robotics Competition Season Kickoff Presentation at the LSU Digital Media Center. The Kickoff marked the beginning of the robot build season for FIRST STRONGHOLD, which is the game for the 2016 robotics competition. The team had the opportunity to see a video about FIRST robotics and to learn about the game. They also picked up the Kit of Parts that contains motors, batteries, control system components, construction materials, and a mix of additional automation components. The FIRST STRONGHOLD medieval game theme adds to the excitement of the Episcopal KnightVision FIRST Team as they begin to design and build their robot. Marc Aubanel, Director of the LSU Digital Media Arts and Engineering, made a dynamic presentation on the research, projects, and events, which involve video game design, 3-D modeling, interactive sound design, and other digital topics, that are in progress at LSU. He inspired students and shared strategies to help them be creative, respectful, and successful.
