Thesis seniors Caroline Crawford and Chloe Gardner were invited to present their thesis at Metairie Park Country Day School's Crossroads Conference. On Tuesday, March 27, Caroline and Chloe participated along with 12 Country Day students and one student from the Episcopal School of Acadiana. Modeled off of traditional academic conferences, students read portions of humanities papers written for various classes. Caroline and Chloe synthesized their thesis research and arguments and shared their LAUNCH presentations, which engaged their audience in unique ways. They presented with Kristian Brooks, a junior at Country Day, on a panel called “Mind Control” and participated in a brief Q&A following their talks. Loyola English Professor Christopher Schaberg attended the conference and delivered the keynote address in which he shared part of his most recent book project that explores the effect of social media and smart technology on our lives.
