First year head volleyball coach Madeline Gugich and her team had a tremendous season. The team finished the regular season 20 and 13 earning a first round bye in the postseason.
The girls fought hard through five sets against Northlake Christian Thursday night in the second round playoff game, but came up just short. It was a close battle with Northlake with the two teams trading the lead back and forth throughout the evening. Senior Femke Maassen-Vetters had a big night serving an ace to win the first set and delivering six kills, eight assists, nine digs and ending with two aces. Junior Gracie Veillon finished the match with 15 kills, four assists, six digs and two aces. Senior Sarah Whisnant came up big on defense with five blocks. Gugich says this season has been a total team effort with every player contributing every outing. Congratulations on a great season! With Episcopal’s long history of volleyball success next season is sure to be exciting to watch as the team continues to grow and develop.
