The Upper School Community Read
We are pleased to be offering once again a book selected for a faculty and student Upper School community read. Individual schools, districts and cities (including Baton Rouge) have benefited from reading and discussing a book as a shared experience among a wide spectrum of people. Student assessment and shared discussion of the book will culminate in a variety of activities, including advisory discussion and student projects. Each advisor is currently reading this year's selection. As you read, consider your own interests for service learning projects that might help you explore your interests and the issues of your community.
Our 2015 selection is:
THE PREGNANCY PROJECT
Click on the link above for more information about our community selection, but in brief, The Pregnancy Project is an award-winning Young Adult memoir of Gabby Rodriguez's senior project, in which she pretended to be pregnant to find out how others would react and to explore how we stereotype each other. The link takes you to the publisher's page with a reading group guide and other helpful information.
