Middle School Parent Newsletter | October 17, 2025

October 17th, 2025 by Anne Dalton

Get ready for some exciting fun! The annual Middle School Rock, Paper, Scissors competition is just around the corner at Episcopal, and it's happening on October 28th during Morning Meeting! 🎉

Students will kick off the festivities by competing against their classmates in their homerooms. From there, the winners of each grade level will face off, leading up to the ultimate showdown where the champion from each grade will compete against each other! And the grand finale? The winning student will challenge the winning middle school faculty member. Who will be crowned the ultimate champion?

Let’s start gearing up for this much-anticipated day of friendly competition and laughter. Get your game faces on and your fingers ready! ✂️📄🪨

In the words of Sheldon Cooper, "scissors cuts paper, paper covers rock, rock crushes lizard, lizard poisons Spock, Spock smashes scissors, scissors decapitates lizard, lizard eats paper, paper disproves Spock, Spock vaporizes rock, and as it always has, rock crushes scissors."

Don't worry, I'll keep you updated on who is crowned this year's winner!

ATTENDANCE:

Please remember that all absences must be reported through PowerSchool.

Looking ahead into the semester, please also know that we will be emphasizing our attendance policy this year; students who miss more than four sessions of any one class will be required to make up the minutes.  This is to comply with Louisiana state law.  You may hear this policy referred to as “No More Than Four” and, while there are some exceptions for school-sanctioned absences and for unavoidable absences (hospitalizations, natural disasters, etc), both reported and unreported absences count towards this limit. For more information, please refer to the handbook.
