Head Girls Coach Van Hiles is deeply rooted in the Episcopal community. A proud member of the Class of 1993, he was inducted into the Episcopal Athletic Hall of Fame following a stellar high school career. He went on to play college football at the University of Kentucky, earning All-SEC honors as a defensive back, before being drafted by the Chicago Bears.

Beyond his athletic achievements, Coach Hiles earned a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from UK and currently operates as the Principal Engineer of Hiles Design, Inc.

Prior to taking the helm of the Girls Track and Field program, Coach Hiles spent four seasons as the Knights' jumps coach. During this time, he coached two long jump state champions and three high jump state champions, while helping the boys’ and girls’ teams capture a combined seven state championship titles and three state runner-up finishes.

Coach Hiles and his wife, Tracie, remain deeply dedicated to the Episcopal community. They are proud parents of two Knights: Jayden (’24) and Makyla (’28).

Claney Duplechin has had tremendous success as the Episcopal Boys Cross Country Head Coach. Since joining the school in 1978, Coach Dupe has led his teams to 39 state titles, including 25 straight, which is second on the NFHS all-time list.  In 2018, Coach Dupe took over as Girls Cross Country Head Coach and has led the girls to four state championships since then. In 2022, Coach Dupe was inducted into the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame. In 2019, Coach Dupe was named to the Louisiana High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame. In 2018, Coach Dupe was named the National Boys Cross Country Coach of the Year by the National High School Athletic Coaches Association. In 2013, he was named the Cross Country Coach of the Year by the National Federation of State High School Associations. In 2012, he received the Gill Athletics National Boys Track & Field Coach of the Year award. In 2011, Coach Dupe and the boys cross country team were recognized by the Louisiana legislature with a concurrent resolution to commend them for sustained and continuing athletic excellence. Coach Dupe is a graduate of Mamou High School. He attended Louisiana State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in physical education, social studies and drivers’ education and a M.Ed in educational supervision and administration. Coach Dupe and his student athletes adhere to the motto: Go Knights! Good People! Have Fun! State Champs!
