Welcome to Episcopal!

We’re thrilled that your family is joining the Episcopal community. To help make your transition into a new school smooth and enjoyable, we’ve created this page just for you. Here, you’ll find information designed to answer frequently asked questions and guide you to the resources you need, from athletics and student health forms to calendars, volunteer opportunities, and division-specific details for your child’s experience.

For additional guidance, many of the resources on this page mirror what our current families use daily. You can explore our full Current Family Resource page for even more helpful tools and information. We also encourage you to watch your email for important updates and summer opportunities from the school, Parents’ Guild, Squires, and Arts Krewe. And of course, if you have questions not addressed here, don’t hesitate to reach out to your division office or the admissions team. We’re here to support you every step of the way.

During the school year, you can expect to receive regular communications from your child’s division head and teachers, keeping you informed about classroom happenings, upcoming events, and important updates.

For urgent matters, such as school closures due to weather or other emergencies, notifications will be sent via text message, email, and social media. To ensure you receive these messages, please make sure the school has your current contact information, including your preferred email address.

Important announcements will also appear in the Knightly News, our school e-newsletter. Once the school year begins, it is delivered every Friday afternoon. If you do not receive Knightly News by the first day of school, please contact your division office so we can make sure you are added.

Here is a link to a printable version of our school calendar. A link to the school calendar can also be found in the Calendar tab of our website. While the default setting will display all school events, you may adjust your search settings to filter by division or department. You also have the option to change the calendar display from monthly to daily or agenda view.

Magnus Health Forms

Before school in August, all families must complete a host of forms and questionnaires via the Magnus Health Portal. This information helps us maintain a safe and healthy environment for all students. Without completion of these forms, students may not be eligible for athletics or participation in other school activities, including field trips, etc.

Familiarity with Magnus is also vital for families. For example, each time a student visits the infirmary, Magnus alerts families, providing information including the reason for the student’s visit, an explanation of symptoms, and an overview of the treatment provided. Of course, in the case of an emergency, parents will be contacted immediately by phone.

If you have questions, please reach out to the Middle & Upper School nurse, Amy Johns ([email protected]).

PE uniforms are required for Middle School students (grades 6–8) and may be purchased through the online spirit store beginning in June through September. The store will reopen in November and December. Limited sizes will be available in the on-campus store when the online store is closed.

Extended Care is available each day that school is in session, from 3:15–5:30 pm*, and may be used on a daily or drop-in basis. Our Extended Care Program welcomes students in PreK3 through 8th grade and provides a safe, engaging environment filled with both indoor and outdoor play, as well as educational activities led by our dedicated staff.

For students in grades 1–8, our Study Hall Program offers an extended period for homework and focused study. In addition, a variety of after-school enrichment classes are offered each quarter. Students enrolled in Extended Care may sign up for these enrichment opportunities and will be escorted to and from class by our staff.

For more information, please contact Nadia Crochet at [email protected].

Lower and Middle School families may choose to pre-order required school supplies through Louisiana Office Solutions. A portion of all sales directly supports Episcopal, and supplies will be delivered to campus by Orientation Day.

Families are also welcome to purchase school supplies independently using the provided supply lists.

Upper School students will receive their supply lists on the first day of school.

Middle and Upper School Summer Reading

The Episcopal English Department requires summer reading to encourage students to read for pleasure, to appreciate quality literature, to develop and maintain good reading habits, and to allow students to find literature that is personally engaging and challenging. All individual titles have been selected according to the English Department Book Selection Policy.

Advanced Placement Math

Upper School students enrolled in an Advanced Placement (AP) math course should check their Canvas course page for any required summer assignments and instructions.

All of our meals are prepared fresh daily by Chef Pat and his team. A menu for the following week is posted online and in Knightly News.

We invite you to shop for spirit items online or in person at our Spirit Store, located on campus in Perkins Hall. You’ll find a variety of items, including sweatshirts, t-shirts, golf shirts, shorts, stadium seats, blankets, and other popular gifts. The store also carries a limited selection of gently used uniforms.

Middle School students are provided with an Episcopal-issued iPad.

Upper School (Grades 9 - 12)

Finalsite Enrollment Management is the system you will use to pay your bill and re-enroll for the next school year.

PowerSchool is the online system you will use to check grades, report absences, and access other information, including student schedules. Over the summer, you will receive PowerSchool login credentials from the Help Desk ([email protected]) or the registrar.

Canvas is the online system that 6th-12th grade students use for assignments and class information. The first day of school, you will receive an email from the Director of Technology with information on how to create your observer account. The Help Desk will also offer a parent training in late August. Information will be emailed regarding that training.
