Strength and Conditioning

The Episcopal Strength and Conditioning Program creates and maintains an optimal fitness level and ideal conditioning schedule for each athlete to achieve his or her individual performance best, while providing significant focus on injury prevention. The strength and conditioning team uses evidence-based principles of sport science, targeting development of strength, explosive power, speed, agility, flexibility and sport-optimized conditioning to create a training regimen unique to each sport, considering specific needs both during and outside of the competitive season.

Strength and conditioning programs enhance individual and team athletic success while maximizing the personal potential of every student athlete. As a result, students develop the mental strength, discipline and self-confidence that can be used in all facets of life.

Students benefit from the following Strength and Conditioning resources:

  • 10,000 square foot training facility with custom Sorinex equipment designed and created specifically for Episcopal.
  • Skilled coaches with advanced knowledge of exercise physiology and sport specific training.
  • Hands on instruction ensuring safe, proper resistance training techniques that are integrated into the physical education program beginning in freshman year.
  • Summer strength and conditioning sessions designed to introduce resistance training, plyometric, speed and agility concepts to rising eighth graders through seniors.
