Episcopal Announces "The Knight of Excellence" Athletic Banquet
March 27th, 2025

The Episcopal Upper School athletic awards banquet is poised to resume its annual tradition. Throughout its history, the banquet has undergone various iterations and locations. This year, we will gather as a community to honor all sports teams and athletes on one night- “The Knight of Excellence.” The event will be held on April 27th at 6:00 pm at L’Auberge Casino Event Center.
This season we witnessed several notable team and individual achievements, particularly the State Championships of the Girls Swim and Boys Cross Country Teams and most recently the Boys Powerlifting Team. Individually, Caroline Watson entered the Episcopal record books scoring 1000 career points in Girls Basketball and Zoey Hodges won the Long Jump Indoor State Championship. Furthermore, eight Knights have pledged to continue their athletic pursuits at the collegiate level. Many Knights demonstrated unwavering dedication, teamwork, and commitment to excellence in their athletic endeavors and to each other this year. We are thrilled to celebrate all of their accomplishments!
The banquet will feature an inspiring speech by Episcopal Alumnus Trey Godfrey, a former three-sport Episcopal athlete and Hall of Fame Inductee. Trey’s remarkable journey from Episcopal to Tulane University and his subsequent professional career in Baton Rouge will undoubtedly serve as a source of motivation for our athletes.

The evening will also include the presentation of several prestigious awards, including the esteemed Annslee Phillips Female Athlete of the Year and Michael Babers Male Athlete of the Year Awards, Knight Awards, and Scholastic Awards. These honors recognize athletes not only for their athletic prowess but also for their exemplary teamwork, leadership, sportsmanship, and academic achievements.
The success of these accomplishments is a testament to the unwavering support provided by our dedicated coaches, families, sponsors, and Squires. Their contributions ensure that our athletes have the necessary resources to achieve their full potential.

As we commemorate the triumphs of our athletes, we invite the Episcopal athletic community to join us for an unforgettable evening of recognition and inspiration. Through this event, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to the future of our athletic program and the exceptional young athletes who will lead us into the next era. Go Knights! Armor Up!
Students should have claimed their free ticket for the event. Parents, family and friends can purchase tickets here: Knight of Excellence Tickets. Tickets are $75 for general seating or you can purchase a table for $900 that includes 10 reserved seats. Dinner will be served for all attending.
