Don't Miss Episcopal's Presentation of "High School Musical Jr."
October 2nd, 2025

“We’re All In This Together” – Disney’s “High School Musical”
This year’s choice of “High School Musical Jr.” for the Middle School theater presentation fits perfectly with the 2025-2026 school theme – Building Community. Theatre Production Director Ali Brady is thrilled with the alignment and says the show is one most Middle School students know well.
Sixty fifth through eighth grade students will take the stage in October, and Brady says there are several new faces, including Brady herself. Like many current Middle Schoolers, Brady first participated in theater in the seventh grade. Since then, she has gone on to perform in and direct various productions. She’s happy to join the Episcopal arts community. “I’m a student voice person,” she says. “I like to be excited about what they’re excited about. There’s joy in the rooms.”
“High School Musical Jr.” is a fitting selection for the Episcopal student community. Brady points out that, like the students in the story, Episcopal students are multitalented and involved in a range of academic and extracurricular activities. The production is upbeat and showcases different groups of students coming together as one community.
Brady says much work and repetition go into a production like this. In addition, the young actors are gaining valuable skills and life experiences. “I see them actively learning how to work with each other,” she says. Rehearsals are collaborative, and Brady says students run lines together and teach each other choreography. Not only are students learning teamwork, but they are also gaining leadership experience that will serve them beyond the stage.
The collaboration on stage also occurs behind the scenes. The arts department faculty are pitching in to make the production a meaningful experience for students. Arts Department Director Louis Gagliano and the technical theatre class students create the set, Dance Teacher Christine Chrest teaches choreography and Performing Arts Academy Director Tori Taylor serves as music director.
