Silas Hall Commits to LSU
February 6th, 2025
“Every kid who grows up in Baton Rouge dreams of having this opportunity, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.” Silas Hall
Long snapper Silas Hall has long wanted to play for the LSU Tigers, and he recently celebrated the realization of his dreams with family and friends in the Episcopal field house. “This opportunity literally means the world for me,” he says. “LSU was the right school for me because not only has it been a dream of mine to play here, but also staying close to home was very important for me. Lots of family members have also attended so it’s pretty cool to be a legacy.”
A Great Representative of Episcopal
Silas leaves a legacy of success at Episcopal. He was a successful defensive end for the Knights, but it was at long snapper that Silas truly made a name for himself. Silas is ranked among the top long snappers in the country and was highly recruited for his specialty talent.
“Silas showed extreme dedication to the craft of deep snapping,” says Head Football Coach Travis Bourgeois. “He set a goal early on in his football career and he achieved it. He represents our school and football program to the utmost high. He is a great role model for our young players.” Coach Charlie O’Brien ’13 agrees and praises Silas for his special team's success. “He ran that unit,” he advised the signing day crowd. “I’m so proud of the way you led that team.”
It Will All Be Worth It
Silas first began playing football in the third grade. “What I love about football is how there are so many different aspects of the game,” he says. “So many things are happening at one time and there is nothing else like it.” Silas specialized in a position that Coach Bourgeois says doesn’t often get a lot of attention. That’s just fine with Silas, who offers this advice to classmates with a similar dream. “The advice I would give is it is OK to put in work without being noticed,” he says. “Just because someone else isn’t watching doesn’t mean you’re not getting better. Eventually people will see and it will all be worth it.”
With such excitement and support for his future, Silas’ commitment to long snapping will certainly be worth it. While pursuing his football dreams, he also plans to pursue a degree in dentistry.
Silas has given Knights fans something to smile about throughout his high school career. Join us in wishing Silas well as he takes the next step in his journey. Please share a message with him in the comments section below.
