Middle School Parent Newsletter | September 19, 2025

September 19th, 2025 by Anne Dalton

We would like to remind you about the upcoming Teacher-Student-Parent conferences on October 15th. These conferences offer a valuable opportunity to collaborate and discuss your child's progress. Attendance is optional for middle school conferences; however, it is important that your student joins you if you choose to meet with a teacher. Their presence will enrich the conversation and provide valuable insights into their learning and progress.

If you want to visit a teacher or two but are not concerned about a particular class, we recommend involving your child in the decision-making process. You can tell them, "We are going to visit this teacher; you can select the other," or ask them which class they find most challenging or rewarding. Involving your child in this decision can help them feel more invested in their education and progress.

Sign up for a time slot using this link. If all time slots are filled, our teachers are more than happy to accommodate meetings in the coming weeks or whenever necessary.

Please note that students will not have classes or remote learning on this day.

We are truly grateful for your continued support and partnership in your child's education. Your involvement makes a significant difference, and we appreciate it.

ATTENDANCE:

Please remember that all absences must be reported through PowerSchool.

Looking ahead into the semester, please also know that we will be emphasizing our attendance policy this year; students who miss more than four sessions of any one class will be required to make up the minutes.  This is to comply with Louisiana state law.  You may hear this policy referred to as “No More Than Four” and, while there are some exceptions for school-sanctioned absences and for unavoidable absences (hospitalizations, natural disasters, etc), both reported and unreported absences count towards this limit. For more information, please refer to the handbook.
