Celebrating Student Success - February 2024
February 6th, 2024

Quiz Bowl Team Qualifies for Nationals!
Congratulations to the Episcopal Quiz Bowl team! The team recently finished fifth, with a 6-2 record, among 30 teams in the Episcopal School of Acadiana Cade Cane Classic Tournament. Senior Ahebwa Muhumuza finished as the overall fourth place scorer. Episcopal team members include Jackson Ezell, Julia Brinker, Tim Namikas and Hayden Willett. With that recent success, the team has been invited to the national tournament in May.

MathCounts Team Heading to State
Congratulations to the MathCounts team! The team recently placed third overall at a local competition and will now compete in the state championship on March 15th in Pineville. Congratulations to team members Oscar Fenske, who placed third in the countdown round, and Tarik Avci, Robert Bradford and Dafi Weng.

Little Guppies Place Fifth!
Congratulations to the Lower School Robotics team, the Little Guppies, for placing fifth at the Louisiana FIRST LEGO League State Competition! Episcopal students competed against 55 teams. In addition, the Little Guppies earned an Engineering Excellence Award for their efforts.
Congratulations to the following team members: Ishan Kankar, Iain Jones, Henry Courtney, David Dampf, Yuri Homma, Ashton Fain, Luke Hathorn, Shotaro Akiyama, Camp Marino, Mason Pizzolato, Alex Schaffer, Blake Bowie and Elaine Courrege.

National Honor Society Induction
Forty members of the junior class were recently inducted into the National Honor Society (NHS). According to the NHS, “membership has been the true mark of student achievement for over 100 years, but it goes far beyond a report card. By empowering, championing, and recognizing well-rounded students, NHS provides schools with a values-based framework to elevate a culture of scholarship, service, leadership, and character.”
