Lower School Families,

We have had another great week in the Lower School! On Monday, all faculty participated in department professional development retreats. 4th graders were proud to show off their national park board games with students and families on Tuesday. Thursday was a busy day - Lower School students practiced an evacuation drill during a large group gathering (Morning Meeting), PreK-4 students celebrated community helpers, and 2nd graders opened a medical clinic to share all they have learned about the human body. And today, we finished strong with a Minions school spirit day!

Important Information & Reminders

  • Theme - Our theme this week was growth!
  • In the QUEST Center this week, PreK-3 - kindergarten students observed and built with leaves, acorns, and squash while using fine motor skills and enjoying dramatic play. 2nd graders hosted their families for their culminating medical clinic to wrap up their study of the human body. 4th graders shared their national parks board games with their families.
  • Monday & Tuesday Dress Code - Typically students are allowed to wear school-approved sweatpants after Thanksgiving to Mardi Gras, but given the cool temperatures early next week, all students are allowed to wear sweatpants Monday & Tuesday of next week. You can find more information on our dress code in the Parent-Student Handbook (pages 30-31).
  • French Week - We are excited to celebrate French culture during the week of November 10-14. Here are the details! Note - Friday is a special dress day!
