Lower School Parent Newsletter | 11-21-25

Lower School Families,
This week, we focused on gratitude, and the week would not be complete without expressing our deepest gratitude for YOU - our parents! We are grateful for the countless ways you support Episcopal and partner so perfectly with our teachers. Thank you!
We are also grateful for your incredible support of Thanksgiving Food Drive. Lower School students donated mountains of boxed potatoes for those less fortunate. Your generosity is most appreciated!
Learning and growing continued throughout the week for Lower School students. 3rd graders traveled to Vermillion on Tuesday. On Thursday, author Ashley Simoneaux joined our Morning Meeting and met with 2nd & 3rd graders later in the day. Also on Thursday, PreK-3 students enjoyed a Thanksgiving Feast with their families.
Important Information & Reminders
- Theme - Our theme this week was gratitude! Mrs. Lofland’s Toolbox Tuesday lesson is here.
- In the QUEST Center this week, PreK-3 students created turkey feathers out of foam shapes and leaf rubbings using crayons to view the various parts of leaves. PreK-4 and kindergarten students used various materials to engineer a “cage” for a turkey. As a complement to the county fair from Charlotte’s Web, 2nd grade students built ferris wheels out of Legos and coded them to turn right and left. 5th grade students worked on coding video games using Scratch.
- Winter Ultimate Smash Camp is back for the December early dismissal days! Ultimate Smash Camp will be offered each day beginning on Tuesday, December 16th through Thursday, December 18th. You can sign your child up for days individually, or for all three days. Students will be served a pizza lunch daily and transition into a variety of activities. Dismissal will occur from the carpool circle promptly at 3:30 pm each day. There is no Extended Care on early dismissal days, so all students need to be picked up at the 3:30 dismissal time. Registration for Ultimate Smash Camp will close promptly at 5:00 pm on Friday, December 12. Please complete the following steps to register your child for Ultimate Smash Camp. We are looking forward to fun afternoons before the holidays! Click here for the Winter Smash Camp Registration.

- Team Talyn - Donations for the family may be made through our School Store. Lower School students are invited to wear Team Talyn t-shirts, paired with uniform bottoms, on each Tuesday, designated as Team Talyn Tuesdays, and lift her in prayer as a community.
