Upper School Parent Newsletter | 10-10-25
October 10th, 2025
Dear Upper School Families,
With Q1 and Fall Break in the rear view mirror, I hope that all our students are refreshed and feeling good about the rest of the semester. We’ve got a few landmark events coming up in the next several weeks - read on for details about the PSATs, Homecoming, and more.
This Saturday, 10/11, Mu Alpha Theta is hosting a tournament on campus. Over 650 students from 35 schools are expected to attend, which makes it the largest math tournament in Episcopal history and among the biggest in the state.
Grades from Quarter 1 will be published on Tuesday 10/14. Please expect further communication on this topic from our Registrar, Nancy Reynolds.
On Wednesday 10/15, our 9th, 10th, and 11th graders will sit for the PSAT. Because this is a school event, standard uniform is expected. 12th graders are not expected to be on campus; instead, they may work remotely on their college applications. Please reach out to Dr. Alan Newton ([email protected]) with any questions about our expectations for the 15th.
At Episcopal, Homecoming Week is a time of many traditions. These include theme dress days, Quad decorations, a pep rally, and, of course, Homecoming Court and a dance. You will find below a list of the theme dress days and major events. Your student will have more detailed information, and I encourage you to ask them about their plans for the week.
- “Megastar” Monday 10/13
- “Twin” Tuesday 10/14
- “PAUSED 4 PSAT” Wednesday 10/15
- “Theme” Thursday 10/16
- “Class Shirt” Friday 10/17
Also on Friday 10/17, we will celebrate our entire Homecoming Court and announce our King and Queen at the pep rally and the football game, respectively.
- Pep Rally (2:30pm) - King announced
- Karnival Knight (3:30-6:30)
- Football Game (7pm) - Queen announced (halftime)
Finally, to cap off the week, Student Council is hosting a Homecoming Dance on Saturday, 10/18, on campus. Students should arrive 7:30-8:00pm, and the doors will close at 8:30. Students will be expected to stay at the dance until 10pm, and all students must depart by 10:30. Students bringing guests from other schools must submit the appropriate dance guest form with signatures online by Wednesday, Oct. 15. In keeping with our safety practices, all guests can expect to be breathalyzed upon entry.
