Spanish Exchange Program

Madrid

Offered every two years

In the fall, Episcopal students host Spanish exchange students from Colegio Bristol in Madrid. The exchange students enjoy a Louisiana cultural experience featuring visits to New Orleans, the Louisiana swamp, Louisiana State University and the State Capitol.

In the spring, the Episcopal students visit Madrid and stay with host families. To learn more about Spanish culture, students visit Madrid de los Austrias (the Old City Center of Spain), El Escorial (the Spanish Royal Palace), and Museo del Prado. Students enjoy a guided tour of Toledo, ziplining, handcrafted chocolate and Spanish dancing.

Episcopal French teacher Julien Prevost will reintroduce the French Exchange Program. Once established, the French Exchange Program would see Episcopal students traveling to France the week before Mardi Gras and throughout the Mardi Gras break in 2007. Students in 10th, 11th and 12th grades will experience the French language and culture. Students should be enrolled in a French course to participate in the exchange as the French exchange school will communicate with students primarily in French.
