Lower School Families,

Despite the frigid temperatures, learning and growing continued in the Lower School! On Tuesday, 3rd graders visited the old and new state capitol. On Wednesday, the entire school gathered for an all-school Lunar New Year assembly. On Thursday, a small army of amazing parents helped students create artwork for the Knight Under the Stars auction - thank you! And today, our PreK-4 students celebrated the 100th day of school by dressing as 100-year-olds. All students also enjoyed some delicious king cakes today, thanks to you!

We continue to lift 5th grader Talyn in prayer as a community each Tuesday. As a reminder, all Lower School students are invited to wear Team Talyn t-shirts in support of her brave battle against cancer. #teamtalyn

Important Information & Reminders

• Theme & Toolbox Tuesday - Our theme this week was humility. Mrs. Lofland’s Toolbox Tuesday lesson is here.

• QUEST Adventures - In the QUEST Center this week, Early Childhood students investigated balance and engineering by creating “bridges” using popsicle sticks and cups for arctic animals to cross. 1st-3rd graders participated in STEAM Stations! These stations include a series of activities for students to participate in to explore simple machines, light and shadows, magnetism, gravity, motion, and more! 3rd graders constructed a variety of mini projects to display their knowledge of topics related to Louisiana History and Culture. 5th grade scientists coded carnival games and amusement park rides using LEGO Spike Essentials robotics kits.

• 3/5 Math Competition for 3rd - 5th Grade - Enrollment is now open for this very special event, hosted by Episcopal Mu Alpha Theta. Register here!

• Parent Volunteer Opportunities - We love having you on campus with us! Here are some upcoming opportunities to get involved:

  • 2/9 - 2/13 Book Fair: Reading Days for Reading Knights - If you’d like to volunteer to help our Librarian, Sara Gomez, with the Book Fair, sign up here.

  • 3/7 Knight Under the Stars - Contact our Gala Chairs, Jacquole Johnson or Kellye Grinton, to volunteer at a table or event during this special evening.

  • 4/2 Grandparents & Special Friends Day - If you would like to volunteer, please complete this form.

  • Tray Helpers - We have many open slots. Please sign up here!

• 3/7 Knight Under the Stars is one of the special traditions that brings our Episcopal community together in a meaningful way. This year’s gala, Havana Knights, will take place on Saturday, March 7, 2026, and supports the programs, teachers, and experiences that help our youngest Knights grow academically, creatively, and spiritually. We encourage our Lower Division families to participate in whatever way feels right—attending the event or supporting a sponsorship. Your involvement strengthens our school community and directly supports the joyful learning experiences our children enjoy every day. • UPDATES for Grandparents & Special Friends Day on Thursday, April 2nd - Save the Date! Lower School grandparents or special friends are invited! This special event begins at 7:25 AM and wraps up at 11:00 AM. Even more details coming soon!

  • After March 2nd, we will email an invitation directly to guests who will be attending.

• Campus School Store – The Campus School Store is open on Wednesdays from 7:30-8:30 AM and Thursdays from 2:00-3:00 PM. Payment types accepted: cash, credit cards, and checks. Items for sale: All sizes of white and navy crewneck sweatshirts and hoodies, navy sweatshirts, PE uniforms, everyday tee shirts, and other miscellaneous items. Please check in at the Alumni House before shopping. Come see us!
