A Global Moment for a Growing Artist: Lower School Student’s Work Featured in the Louvre Exhibition
January 28th, 2026

The Lower School community recently recognized new Episcopal fourth grader Olivia Park for an incredible achievement. Olivia created an original painting that was on display in the Louvre Museum in Paris, France!
Olivia’s parents shared that the artwork was part of the Le Carrousel du Louvre exhibition. “Olivia’s painting is inspired by Gaia, the Greek/Roman goddess of the Earth,” says Olivia’s mother, Claire Lee. “In the piece, Gaia is holding the planet closely. Olivia explained that the variety of flowers and colors represents diversity-different cultures and people around the world-while reminding us that we all share one Earth. She also wanted to express Gaia’s sadness and heartbreak as she watches the Earth being harmed and destroyed.”
“What an amazing recognition for such a young artist!” says Lower School art teacher Catherine Russell. “Not only is her art unique, it appeals to emotions and realizations that are meaningful beyond her years. To have this art shown in such a monumental setting is an accomplishment she will not soon forget, hopefully inspiring her to continue creating for many years to come.”
Join us in welcoming Olivia and congratulating her on this tremendous honor. Share a comment with her in the comments section below.
