Rosemary Boutwell '17 on TCU Leadership Team Exploring Honors Exchange Program in Mexico
June 27th, 2018
This spring, 2017 Episcopal graduate and current Texas Christian University student Rosemary Boutwell participated in an exciting international opportunity. Boutwell was invited to join members of the TCU leadership team, including the Dean of the Honors College, the TCU Provost, several academic deans and professors, and other students on a trip to Guanajuato, Mexico. The purpose of the excursion was to explore the possibility of creating an exchange program between TCU and the University of Guanajuato. The TCU delegation met with University of Guanajuato representatives at an education center established by former Mexican President Vincente Fox and his wife Marta Sahagun. Boutwell had the opportunity to meet the former president and his wife as they were both on hand as hosts and participants in the discussions. Upon their return to Texas, Boutwell, her Honors professor and a fellow student have begun creating an Honors class to be offered in conjunction with the exchange program.
During the 2018/2019 school year, Rosemary will be actively involved at TCU as a honors ambassador and will participate on the TCU model UN team. While at Episcopal, she was a member of the Spanish Honor Society, as well as a member of the Speech and Debate Team and the Student Council. She was a Writing Center tutor, an honors thesis student and active in numerous community service efforts.
