Our Mission
Episcopal is a PreK-3 through 12th grade Baton Rouge private school and educational community committed to discovering and developing individual potential, preparing each student for college success and lives of purpose. Episcopal’s mission is to develop the whole child – spiritually, intellectually, morally, physically and artistically – through challenging academic and co-curricular programs. Academic Excellence
Episcopal has a reputation for offering rigorous academic coursework to challenge students and help them develop the skills required of tomorrow’s leaders. The independent school experience offers teachers and students the freedom to delve deeper than the textbook and fully explore the world around them. Project-based learning units and hands-on activities take place in the classroom, the lab, outdoors, on field trips and in a range of exciting locations. Learn more about what makes Episcopal academics exceptional among public and private schools in the Baton Rouge region.
Athletic Opportunities
Athletic opportunities help the Knights push their limits and understand how to give their best to the team. The lessons learned on the field and on the court open new paths to understanding in the classroom and new opportunities for college and beyond. Episcopal’s winning track record begins with our athletic philosophy and dedication to a student-centered program. Read more about the Knights.

Artistic Expression
Lessons learned on the stage and as a member of a dance ensemble help students develop the confidence and empathy to make a difference in the world. As students learn the notes of a song and how to mix colors to create the perfect shade, they are also developing the skills and artistic discipline to express themselves. The arts are a foundational and meaningful component of the Episcopal experience. Learn more about the range of inspiring arts opportunities available.
Spirituality
At Episcopal, the principles of meaningful school worship, rich community life, foundational religious education and striving for social justice are woven into the very fabric of the overall student experience. It is evident as Middle and Upper School students express themselves through service learning and it is witnessed in Lower School Morning Meeting as children raise their voices in song.
