March 25th, 2026
Episcopal students are accomplishing outstanding things! Join us in celebrating success and look for more success articles in the future.
Mock Trial Finishes the Season Strong
Episcopal fielded three teams at the Region III Mock Trial competition held at the 19th Judicial District Court House. A team of Tripp Veillion, Alexander Williams, Marielle Doherty, Benjamin Badeaux, Gabi Williams, John Rogers Lambert and Aiden Grassman had a strong showing as both prosecution and defense.
The team of James McIlwain, Mason Kelly, Oscar Fenske, Carolena Duncan, Elizabeth Badeaux, Akachi Mere and Robert Bradford advanced to the semifinal round.
The team of Brennen Botos, Bailey Burns, Leia Weng, Kate Lyons, Maddie Falcon and Abigail Harr advanced to the final round, earning the Regional Champion title. Best attorney honors went to Bailey, and Kate was voted outstanding witness. The team represented Region III at the State Competition held on Saturday, March 21, at the Tom Stagg United States Courthouse in Shreveport.
In Mock Trial, participants act as lawyers and witnesses for the prosecution/plaintiff and defense/defendant while learning about the procedures for trying cases. Students increase their knowledge of the law in general, skills in critical thinking and confidence in public speaking. The teams were coached by attorneys Barbara Irwin, Jason Melancon and Steven Sumbler, and sponsored by Episcopal Social Studies Teachers Anita Gilmore and Dr. Rebecca Kuhn.

Model UN Students Represent Brazil and Central African Republic at State
Episcopal sent eight delegates to the 2026 Model United Nations conference held at the Marriott in Baton Rouge. They represented the countries of Brazil and Central African Republic, engaging in lively debate and writing resolutions on world issues. Autumn Baldridge wrote two resolutions that passed; one was debated on the final day at plenary before the entire conference of 415 delegates from around the state. Maddie Falcon was named the outstanding justice for the International Court of Justice. Congratulations to the following delegates who represented Episcopal well: Autumn Baldridge, Maddie Falcon, Oliver McConnell, Graham Hanby, John Rodgers Lambert, Nate McLean, Mason Catallo and Stella Silva.
