Brody Bailey to Play Baseball at Lyon College
April 8th, 2025

“Ever since I was old enough to throw a baseball it has been my dream to play baseball in college.” Brody Bailey ’25
Senior Brody Bailey realized his lifelong dream when he announced he’ll play baseball for Lyon College next year. Brody grew up on the baseball field and began playing at the age of five. His love for the sport has only grown. “My favorite part about baseball is that it is a game of failure, so I feel that it builds your character as a person just by playing,” he says.
It did not take Brody long to determine that Lyon College was the right place to continue his baseball dream. “Lyon felt like home from the second I stepped foot on the campus,” he says. “My tour guide who was a current student there made a personal connection with me from the jump. The coaches also connected with me on a personal level.”
At Episcopal, Brody also had a personal connection with his coaches, with his dad, Brett Bailey, a part of the coaching staff. Head baseball coach Travis Bourgeois remembers Brody as a first grader on the ball field. “Baseball and Brody go hand in hand,” he says. Coach Bourgeois advised that while college baseball will be a different experience, Brody’s faith and love of the game will keep him involved.

Brody is still considering his major options but says he may study business or marketing. He encourages classmates with a similar athletic goal. “Anything is possible if you put the time in,” says Brody. Brody leaves his mark at Episcopal as a member of the Grill Club and the 3V3 Basketball Club. In addition to baseball, Brody also played football for the Knights during his senior year.
Join us in congratulating Brody as he takes the next step in his educational and athletic journey. Share a comment with him below.
