OUR MISSION AND MINISTRY
As a ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana, the mission of Episcopal School of Baton Rouge is to nurture and develop the whole child - spiritually, intellectually, morally, physically and artistically - through challenging academic and co-curricular programs that prepare our graduates for college and for purposeful lives.

At Episcopal, excellence in teaching and learning means more than strong academics. It means students are known, challenged, supported, and invited to grow through meaningful classroom experiences, creative exploration, athletics, spiritual life, and relationships with teachers who care deeply about their development.
This video reflects the heart of Goal One: a commitment to strengthening the student experience while continuing to invest in the people, programs, and practices that make Episcopal distinct.
Goal One
Excellence in Teaching & Learning
Building upon our 60-year legacy of academic excellence, Episcopal School of Baton Rouge will continue to lead, innovate and develop exceptional educational programming enhanced by meaningful artistic, athletic and spiritual learning experiences. Episcopal School of Baton Rouge will be recognized locally and nationally for excellence in teaching and learning.
Strategies
- Evaluating and expanding academic programs to ensure a well-aligned curriculum that builds upon Episcopal’s current high academic standards, fosters a culture of academic excellence, meets the needs of all students, and offers rich experiences to prepare students for college and purposeful lives in a changing global world.
- Establishing a Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning to strengthen Episcopal’s academic support programs and further develop students' social-emotional and mental well-being.
- Attracting, retaining, and supporting high-performing faculty and staff who are committed to the Mission and Ministry of the school, reflect and enhance Episcopal’s diverse community, and serve as national educational leaders.
As this work continues, Episcopal will focus on academic program alignment, faculty support, student well-being, and learning experiences that prepare students for the future.
