Middle School Goals
Middle School is a time of significant growth—academically, socially, and emotionally. At Episcopal, students are guided through this transition with intention, support, and high expectations, helping them build confidence and a strong sense of self.
Episcopal's Middle School priorities includel strengthening the arts program, supporting a smooth academic transition from 5th to 6th grade, refining the religion curriculum and participating in service learning activities. The team will also work collaboratively to strengthen financial planning and school resource management. The strategies below provide an example of how each strategic plan goal will be achieved in Middle School. Division Head Anne Dalton also highlights the positive impacts for students.
Strategic Goal One: Excellence in Teaching & Learning
Middle School initiatives focus on strengthening the arts program, supporting a smoother academic and developmental transition from 5th to 6th grade, and expanding professional development. The division also promotes creative student engagement through podcast storytelling initiatives that reflect Episcopal values and student voice.
Strategic Goal Two: Episcopal Identity & Community
Middle School is refining its religion curriculum to integrate Episcopal themes beyond the 6th grade year, promoting consistent exposure to belonging, spirituality, and service. Students participate in structured service days tied to local community engagement, and families are invited to connect through grade-level coffees and shared reading events. The honor code is revisited regularly to align with identity and behavior expectations.
Strategic Goal Three: Financial Sustainability
School-wide collaboration is strengthening financial planning across divisions. Teams are working together to align departmental initiatives with budget priorities, seek new revenue opportunities, and build long-term sustainability through data-informed strategies.
The Middle School years matter. At Episcopal, students are not only prepared for Upper School—they are supported as they grow into confident, capable young people.
