Upper School Goals

The Process:
In keeping with best practices, Episcopal Board of Trustees and administrators launched directly into a strategic plan development process upon the successful completion of a dual reaccreditation process with the Southern Association of Independent Schools and the Southwestern Association of Episcopal Schools. The SAIS and SAES re-accreditation process was thorough, with school administrators reviewing school goals involving the mission, governance, teaching standards, stakeholder communications, support systems and distance learning capabilities. The process included a SAIS Community Feedback Survey, providing students, parents, faculty and staff an opportunity to share feedback regarding the school. Focus groups were conducted with students, faculty, parents, alumni and business professionals to garner more in-depth details on the topic of experiential learning. The accreditation team commended Episcopal for the school’s strong sense of community, school goals involving experiential learning, governance, facilities planning, endowment and development, debt reduction and a commitment to the Episcopal Identity. The team also recognized the school for nurturing high student participation and engagement.
Moving into the strategic plan development phase immediately after the re-accreditation proved ideal. The community feedback and information gathered through the re-accreditation process informed the establishment of the three goals and the strategies to achieve them. As a result, school administrators and board leadership are confident that Episcopal students will be well prepared for college and beyond.
