Lower School Families, 

We’ve had an excellent week in the Lower School!

In the QUEST Center this week:

• PreK-3 students balanced Easter eggs on tubes to practice their hand-eye coordination using slow, precise movements. 
• PreK-4 students built a wall for Humpty Dumpty using various types of blocks and building materials. 
• Kindergarten decorated wooden easter eggs using a variety of loose parts. 
• 1st - 3rd participated in a variety of STEAM activities, such as creating with Air Toobz, building with the Simple Machines Building set, playing Sum Swamp, and more. 
• 2nd graders designed and built a zipline carrier to help rescue a toucan from the rainforest. 
• 3rd graders compiled observations and questions related to Louisiana Ecosystems during a gallery walk.  They also designed and created a solution to slow Louisiana’s coastal erosion problems. 
• 5th graders in Mrs. Won’s homeroom built and coded modes of transportation using the LEGO Spike Essentials Kits.

Reminders

• Check-in Reminder: Always check in at the Alumni House upon your arrival on campus. Please return visitor lanyards to the Alumni House before you depart campus.
• After School Information for Next Week: 
  • Tuesday, 3/31 - No clubs or Homework Helper due to LS Easter parties
  • Thursday, 4/2 - No clubs, Homework Helper, or Extended Care due to Grandparents and Special Friends Day
• 3/31 Easter Egg Hunt & Parties - We have partnered with the Parents’ Guild to celebrate Easter this year! Students may wear Easter attire and should bring an Easter basket. See your child’s grade level news for more details & join us!
• 4/2 Grandparents & Special Friends Day
  • An invitation was emailed to all parents, grandparents & special friends last week. The invitation includes the schedule & parking information.
  • 7:25-8:00 Guest Check-in - VPAC Lobby; Students report to the Lower School
  • Parking for Guests: Front lot, Alumni House lot, Chapel lot, Gym lots, Chapelwood Drive. No parking on Woodland Ridge or the carpool circle.
  • Parents are welcome to pick up/drop off guests & students at the carpool circle to avoid guest parking.
  • Guests will travel around campus on this day. Golf carts will be available for those who may need assistance traveling.
• 4/13 Rising 6th Grade Parents - Middle School New Parent Night is Monday, April 13, at 6PM.
• Tray Helpers - Volunteers needed. Please sign up here.
• Team Talyn Tuesday - We continue to lift 5th grader Talyn in prayer as a community each Tuesday. As a reminder, all Lower School students are invited to wear Team Talyn t-shirts in support of her brave battle against cancer. #teamtalyn
• Summer Camps - Enrollment is open! For more information, please visit our website. 
• Campus School Store – The Campus School Store is open on Wednesdays from 7:30-8:30 AM and Thursdays from 2:00-3:00 PM. Payment types accepted: cash, credit cards, and checks. Please check in at the Alumni House before shopping.
