PAT MAHON. DIRECTOR OF NUTRITION. CULINARY ARTS. CULINARY ARTS INSTITUTE OF BATON ROUGE. Pat Mahon serves as Director of Nutrition, overseeing the nutritional needs of the entire Episcopal student body, faculty and staff. Mahon has extensive experience in the culinary arts. Before joining Episcopal, he was a Chef Instructor for the Louisiana Culinary Institute. In the role, he created and implemented lesson plans focused on knife skills, equipment, safety, customer perceptions and professional cooking. Mahon also developed and implemented a culinary employee training program for the Pinnacle Casino Group, providing on-site training in New Orleans, Bossier City and Lake Charles. In addition, Mahon created and implemented a student garden club and designed, built and maintained a student herb and vegetable garden. Mahon was the Assistant General Manager of Sullivan’s Steak House and the Executive Chef, Owner/Operator of Chicago’s Steak & Seafood Restaurant. Prior to entering the culinary field, Mahon was the Communications Director for the Louisiana Environmental Action Network. Mahon earned a Culinary Arts degree from the Culinary Arts Institute of Baton Rouge and a degree in communications from Louisiana State University. |
