Upper School Parent Newsletter | 02-06-26

February 6th, 2026 by Dan Binder

Dear Upper School Families,

As we look ahead to a busy spring, please take note of the following events and important transitions:

Seasonal Transition At Episcopal, the common life we share is built on respect -- respect for ourselves, for one another, and for the work we are all called to do.  The Episcopal Code of Honor reminds us that our individual actions are at the heart of our community.  In that spirit, "Sweatpants Season" will officially end when we return from Mardi Gras break on Monday, February 23rd, and students will return to our standard uniform expectations.  As a reminder, navy fastenable trousers (those with buttons, zippers, or snaps) are acceptable year-round.  This shift is about more than a dress code; it is a shared commitment to a community where our outward appearance matches the high level of intellectual work happening in our classrooms.  When we dress with intention, we honor the excellence of our school and the purposeful lives we are helping our students build.  Thank you for your partnership in helping us maintain these standards.

KUTS Gala: The "Knights Under the Stars" Gala is a signature annual event of our Parents Guild.  It is a wonderful opportunity to gather as a community in support of the school’s mission.  This year's theme is Havana Knights, and you are invited to join the fun on Saturday, March 7, 2026.  You can find more information and purchase tickets here.

Knights on the Court:  Be part of history at the first-ever tennis mixer at Episcopal!  On Friday, March 13th, Coach Luke and Coach Joe, our Upper School Tennis coaches, will kick off the evening with a special expo match starting at 6pm. Round Robin play will begin at 6:30pm.  Enjoy great tennis, high-energy music by DJ Beauty and the Beats, delicious food provided by Chow Yum, and specialty drinks. This event is for guests 21 and older.  You can find more information and purchase tickets here.

Staffing Reminder:  We are fortunate to have Dr. Jen Godfrey with us in the Upper School office.  Dr. Godfrey will be your primary point of contact for attendance-related matters.  You can find her contact information below.

As always, thank you for your trust in us as we prepare your students for college and purposeful lives.
