Braeden George Signs with Navy
February 8th, 2024

“It means a lot to be able to not only continue my athletic career at the division 1 level, but also serve my country.” Braeden George ’24
Episcopal running back Braeden George recently announced that he will continue his football career at the United States Naval Academy. “I feel like Navy is the right choice for me because of the leadership and accountability the community promotes,” he says. “I think being around people with similar goals and aspirations will push me to work even harder.”
A Leader on the Field
Braeden certainly worked hard on the field for the Knights. Head Coach Travis Bourgeois highlighted Braeden’s 3,000 yards rushing and 44 touchdowns at the signing ceremony. “We saw something special in Braeden his freshman year,” Bourgeois says. “I enjoyed watching his development. You made others around you better.”
Braeden first began playing football at the age of five and has been developing as a player since. “The thing I love most about football is being able to compete against and with my teammates during every practice and game,” he says. That passion for the game was obvious on the field, earning Braeden numerous honors, including Team Captain, All-Metro and All-District. He’s also recently been named a nominee for WAFB’s Athlete of the Year.

Work Hard/Stay Focused
Braeden, who serves as a basketball manager and runs outdoor track, encourages classmates with similar goals to give it their all. “My advice for students who want to play at the next level is to work hard and stay focused,” he says. “There are plenty distractions in life, but if you can block them out and focus on your goal, you'll succeed.”
No doubt, Braeden will be successful at the next level. Please join us in wishing him well.
