Middle School Actress is a Wonder
Samantha Chrest was cast in her first TV guest star role on ABC’s “The Wonder Years.” Samantha recently finished an indie film called “Love’s Secret Ingredient” and now will be getting her Screen Actors Guild Union card with this job. She plays a theatrical classmate of the lead character “Dean” and without any spoilers — she gets to make use of her musical theater chops honed in Episcopal productions, including “Aladdin,” “Les Miserable,” and currently “Matilda Jr.”

Swimmer of the Meet!
Congratulations to Rylee Simoneaux! For the second year in a row, Rylee was named the Swimmer of the Meet at the City Meet.
Future Aerospace Engineer Attends Aeronautics/Robotics Camp
Senior Nathan Gibson attended an aeronautics and robotics camp at UT San Antonio this summer. Participants worked in groups to create rockets. Nathan will soon share what he learned with his Episcopal engineering classmates. He hopes to pursue a degree in aerospace engineering after graduation.

Outstanding Educator
Congratulations to Episcopal’s Dr. Rebecca Kuhn! Dr. Kuhn received the University of Chicago Outstanding Educator Award. The University of Chicago began recognizing teachers with the award more than 30 years ago based on input from newly admitted students. This year’s winners were nominated by members of the UChicago Class of 2026. The school says responses were submitted by thousands of students who wanted to recognize a teacher for making a difference in their life. Read more about Dr. Kuhn in a previous Episcopal blog post here. #outstandingeducators
Coach of the Year
Congratulations to Coach Bill Jones! The Louisiana High School Coaches Association selected Coach Jones as the 21/22 National High School Association of Coaches Louisiana Coach of the Year in girls' track & field! Coach Jones is now eligible to be selected as a finalist for the NHSACA National Coach of the Year. That announcement will be made next summer.
