Little Knights/Big Trucks
The littlest Knights are learning all about homes and buildings in their current project-based learning unit. PreK-3 teacher Emily Richard says they recently hosted an exciting Touch-A-Truck event. “It was a unique, interactive event that allowed our Mini Knights to see, touch, and explore their favorite big trucks, vehicles, and heavy equipment that we see on the Episcopal campus almost daily,” she says.
Nursery Rhyme Olympics
Humpty Dumpty, Little Red Riding Hood and more took part in games and challenges in the main gym. PreK-4 students, dressed as their favorite fairy tale characters, had a great time participating in the annual Nursery Rhyme Olympics, which included an opening ceremony, torches and tons of smiles.
Knights Flying Kites
Kindergarteners and their senior buddies had a great time flying kites. This annual event is always a hit with the younger AND older students. The senior buddies partnership between graduating seniors and kindergarteners is one of the most treasured traditions among members of the Episcopal community.
Animal Adventures
What do owls eat? First graders dissected owl pellets to get to the bottom of this mystery as part of their project-based lesson on animals and their habitats. The unit has included a visit from the Baton Rouge Zoo, making observations in the park and spending time at the museum.
Space Missions in QUEST
As part of their lesson on outer space, students used Dash robots to simulate space missions. Teacher Renee Crousillac instructed students to imagine that they were at NASA’s Houston space center remotely operating a robot on Mars.
Paleontology Fun
Third grade paleontologists pieced together the past as they assembled the “skeletons” of prehistoric creatures. The unit also features a fossil excavation using chocolate chip cookies and dinosaur teachers showing students how to do the Dino Stomp.
Karnival Knight
This year’s Karnival Knight was amazing! Thank you to everyone who helped make this day so special.
