Wow! What a Winter Sports Season!
March 3rd, 2023
It’s been an unbelievable winter sports season for the Knights! Take a look at the highlights and join us in congratulating these student athletes. Photos provided by Squires. Thank you!
Girls Basketball is the State Runner-Up/Boys Finish Strong
The girls basketball team finished the season as the state runner-up! This was the second year in a row that the Knights played in the big game. Congratulations! (The team visited with Episcopal Diocese Bishop Shannon Duckworth during practice.)
The boys basketball team had their own run in the playoffs but came up short versus Sophie B. Wright following their dominant win in the first round against North Caddo high School. Congratulations on another exciting season.
Soccer X’s Two!
The Knights took over Strawberry Stadium in Hammond as both the boys and girls competed for state championship titles.
In a nail-biting game that went down to extra penalty kicks to break the tie, the boys defeated Holy Savior Menard to win the Division 4 state championship title. Goalkeeper Luke Stelly was named the state championship’s Most Outstanding Player. The win happened to occur on the 10 year anniversary date of Episcopal’s first boys soccer state championship in 2013. Congratulations to this years squad and Coach Booluck!
A young girls soccer team capped off a successful season with a playoff run that took them all the way to the state championship game. Despite coming up short versus Newman, there is much to celebrate, and the future certainly looks bright for this group of athletes.
