Sarah Bonnecaze Signs with TCU
November 8th, 2023

“I really got the sense that they value their student athletes more than just their performances on the field.” Sarah Bonnecaze, Class of 2024
With soccer season upon us, Episcopal standout Sarah Bonnecaze announced her plans to continue playing at the next level. Bonnecaze, who was a key member of the Knights team that earned a state runner-up title last season, will play next year at Texas Christian University.

Academics matter
“Besides the athletic part, I knew TCU was the right fit for me the first time I visited,” says Sarah. “Talking with all the coaches and counselors I really got the sense that they value their student athletes more than just their performances on the field. They care about the academic part just as much which is really important to me.” When it comes to academics, Sarah plans to pursue a degree in sports medicine/movement science.
Hard work pays off
Sarah says she’s played soccer for as long as she can remember, and earning the opportunity to compete in college is a dream come true. “It means everything because I have worked really hard and sacrificed a lot of things to get this opportunity.” She encourages classmates with similar goals to put in the effort to make it happen. “I would say don’t give up on your goals or dreams and work really hard to achieve them,” she says.
Episcopal Head Coach Lynn Bradley says Sarah has been a fantastic athlete for Episcopal athletics during her school career. “Her dedication to the sport of soccer has been phenomenal and we are extremely proud Sarah gets to continue her soccer journey at a big 12 conference school,” she says. “To be recruited by a college like TCU proves her dedication, hard work and commitment over the years has paid off. Sarah is a special talent and we look forward to following her journey as a collegiate student athlete. But until then, we will enjoy our final high school soccer season with Sarah and hopefully make it a memorable one for her before she heads off to college!”
As a testament to the strength of the Episcopal soccer program, Sarah is the second Knight from that state runner-up team to sign with a collegiate program. Last spring, Katie Sue Capron signed with Birmingham Southern. No doubt, this season will be another thriller for the Knights.

Join us in congratulating Sarah!
Make plans to support the team this season. The first opportunity to catch Sarah and the Knights in action at home is Tuesday, November 21st at 6:00 pm when Episcopal hosts Denham Springs.
