Lower School Parent Newsletter | September 23
September 23rd, 2026
Dear Parents,
September 23, 2026
Fall is officially here, and with it comes a busy, exciting season. On the first day of fall, our staff spent the day engaged in professional development, focusing on vertical alignment, Responsive Classroom practices, and CPR training. It was a meaningful day that allowed us to reflect on our work and better prepare to support the needs of our students and community.
As you will see, there are many events and activities taking place over the next several weeks. Please make sure that during all school after-school events, children are supervised. We look forward to all that this season will bring and appreciate your partnership along the way. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

Quarter 2 club registration is now open. Club registration will remain open until Friday, October 2 at 3:00 pm. Space is limited, and early registration is encouraged to secure a place for your child in a particular club. Please review the club booklet here.
Just a reminder, the deadline to opt-out of the 2026-2027 print directory is Friday, September 25, 2026. The directory includes family emails, phone numbers, and addresses. Please complete the opt-out form if you do not want your household included in the directory.
Our School Security Parent Coffee is scheduled for Monday, September 28, 2026, at 8:00 AM in the Alumni House Dining Hall. Please join us for an informative conversation about school security and the steps we are taking to help keep our students and campus safe. We hope you’ll make plans to attend!
Picture Retake Day is scheduled for Tuesday, September 29 from 7:50-10:00 AM in the VPAC Lobby. If your Lower School student needs a retake, please write “RETAKE” on your child’s photo packet and return it to your child’s homeroom teacher. Students that missed our initial picture day in August will also take a picture on this day. You may also email Casie Burley in the Lower School Office if your child needs to participate in retake day.
Karnival Knight is next Friday, October 2nd from 3:30-6:30PM. Extended Care is not available on this day and Lower School students will only be dismissed to an adult. Please complete the Karnival Knight dismissal form in your child’s Wednesday folder and return it to your child’s teacher by next Wednesday.
Mark your calendars for our annual Blessing of the Animals on Monday, October 5th @ 3:45 PM on the front lawn. All pets should be caged or leashed and children may also bring a picture of their pet or a stuffed animal. Our Upper School Service Learning class will be collecting used towels and blankets for the CCA Animal Shelter. Click here to learn more about CCA and the Blanket and Towel Drive.
Just a reminder to please refrain from using your cell phone during morning and afternoon carpool. Our focus should be on keeping carpool moving safely and efficiently. Thank you for your cooperation!
Go Knights!
