Episcopal Names New Head Baseball Coach
May 6th, 2025

Episcopal has named veteran coach J.T. Blair the new Head Baseball Coach for the Knights. Blair joins Episcopal from Walker High School, where he served as Assistant Coach, working with catchers and hitters. This season, the Wildcats advanced to the regional round of the state playoffs after finishing the regular season with a 23-10 record. In addition to his work with the Wildcats, Blair is the Head Coach of Knights Nation, a 17U national team. The team captured the Marucci World Series Championship, ending the summer with a 26-10 record.
Blair brings a wealth of experience to the Episcopal Knights, having previously coached at Holmes Community College, the Upstate Mavericks Organization and Spartanburg High School. While serving as a volunteer assistant coach at Birmingham-Southern College, Blair helped the team finish as the National Runner-Up after winning the Regional and Super Regional. He also worked with the team catcher who went on to win the National Gold Glove Award for his position. In addition to coaching, Blair has recruited at the D3 level.
Blair earned a degree in Business Economics from Wofford College. He was a member of the Millsaps College baseball team, playing catcher, first base, pitcher and designated hitter.
“I’m thrilled to welcome Coach J.T. Blair to Episcopal as the new baseball coach,” says Episcopal Athletic Director Randy Richard. “He brings both experience and a passion to the game, making him a great fit for our baseball program and school community. I’m confident that his leadership and dedication will inspire and elevate our student athletes to new milestones for the program.”
Blair will take over for longtime Episcopal Head Baseball Coach Travis Bourgeois for the 2026 season. Coach Bourgeois is a four-time Coach of the Year, has amassed nearly 200 victories and maintained a win average of approximately .700. Under his leadership, the Knights have secured four district titles, made four state quarterfinal appearances and one semi-final appearance. Bourgeois will continue with the Knights as the Head Football Coach.
